    Capital Improvement Program

The Laguna Madre Water District (LMWD) hired NRS Consulting Engineers in 2004 to conduct a Comprehensive Plan for Water and Wastewater facilities. In 2008, Alan Plummer Inc. conducted an Asset Management Plan (AMP) that provided a comprehensive assessment of the District’s existing infrastructure assets. The total amount that was estimated to complete these improvements was $ 54,281,471 for water and $ 5,239,534 for wastewater.

    Planning for the Future

Aging infrastructure is a challenge facing water and wastewater utilities across the country. As infrastructure is nearing the end of their useful life, the LMWD has undertaken a Capital Improvement Program to meet the District’s short and long-term needs.
